I have started on a new challenge in my business.  You know I’m already working with a coach and the roadmap he has laid out for me can be challenging enough, but I’ve also decided to join Dean Holland’s program… The Quick Start Challenge.  Dean is working with two partners on this program Craig Crawford and JF Garsula.  Learn what I discovered about this Challenge in the video below:

Pretty cool, right? Well, I’ll keep you posted on how things are going each week. Let me know what you think about this crazy adventure I’ve gotten myself into by commenting below.

You Were Just Hanging Out With Me!

Did you really notice the video above? It was a Google Hangout and it is the first one I’ve done and embedded into my website.  Yes, I’ve done a Hangout before with my friends but never for my business.  Notice, I said Business.  That’s how I and you need to think about this because WE ARE GROWING A BUSINESS!  Anyway, Hangouts and Google+ are getting a lot of press lately from bloggers I follow so I’m trying to figure them out.  The learning never ends…

Leave me a comment and let me know what experience you have with Hangouts and Google+.  Have a great week!

To your success,

LeslieZ

      Hi Leslie …

Perhaps when my new equipment arrives we can do a few hangouts together and discuss the challenge.

I’ve been marketing successfully for many years but love to research what others are doing. So, I’m a “Challenger” also.

See ya on the calls …

      Art

      • lesliez

        Hi Art,
That would be great to do a hangout together. I’m still learning about them, put practice makes perfect, right?

Good luck to you in the challenge.

Nice blog. I enjoyed reading and watching your videos. I am also doing the Quick Start Challenge. I love it when I learn something new and that was the accountability partnership. Thank you for that. I hope my first video will be as good as yours was. Keep up the good work. 🙂

      • lesliez

Thanks for your comment Jamie. My accountability partner has been huge for me. Even though he is in Great Britain, we make it work.

My accountability partner is very soft spoken and very encouraging. So a partner doesn’t have to ruthless and in your face. But they need to be helpful, encouraging and willing to help you in your business.

It’s great to be working with someone that understands your challenges, your dreams and wants those same things as much as you do.

I wish you the best Jamie!

Hey Leslie great post and video on the challenge 🙂 I have attended lots of hangouts but never been on one so really need to start using them 🙂

      • lesliez

        Thanks Kirsten!

It is amazing the amount there is to learn when you are starting your own business. The key is to pick one or two items and figure that out then pick one or two more.

Trying to do it all at the same time doesn’t get you anywhere but frustrated.

        LeslieZ

    • Jeremy

Best of luck to you as you tackle this challenge Leslie. Grind hard!

      Hi Leslie,

Came upon your post as I was perusing the FB QSC group.

Your site looks familiar, is it a Flexibility Theme?

You’ll do well with a mentor like Marc Milburn. Met him last summer..a real impressive guy.

I’m hoping Dean Holland is that type of guy as we go through the quick start challenge.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

      Guy

      • lesliez

        Yes guy,
I am using the Flexibility Theme. Marc is a really great guy! And I do believe Dean is that type of guy too. Here’s to both of our success.

      Hi Leslie,

I like your video,. Making videos is going to be a big challenge for me, because it requires that I step out of my comfort zone.

I’m not good at presenting myself in front of a camera, but I will have to learn this skill to make videos for my first product.

      Success to your Challenge,

      Frank

      • lesliez

Frank, You are too kind about my videos. I understand being outside of your comfort zone. A ton of my IM experience has been outside of my comfort zone.

And video scared me to death. That’s why I just had to do the first video in my car. Just do it and don’t necessarily care about the outcome. That is also a bit scary to then put it on your video and let others see it.

You will do great with video and the challenge.

Let’s jump outside of our comfort zone together! That’s the only way we’ll grow and achieve our goals!

    • Naidy Phoon

Hey Lesliez great video! I’ve never used Google Hangout myself, looks cool! By the way I love your site layout I considered using Flexibility in the past but it was hard to integrate my logo with the theme!

Anyways looking forward to seeing more of you as the program progresses :)All the best!

      Naidy.

      • lesliez

        Thanks Naidy,

Actually Flexibility 3 was pretty easy to use. And the fact that it is FREE makes it all the better.

Can’t wait to track our progress in the challenge.

        LeslieZ

    • Nancy

Leslie, I really enjoyed reading your posts. And I REALLY like the layout of your blog. I hope you don’t mind if I steal a few ideas. What theme are you using, it’s great! I intend to check back here soon as Week 2 starts tomorrow.

      • lesliez

Nancy, feel free to steal away! I’ll take that as a huge compliment. I am using Flexibility3. It is a free theme.

Go here http://www.flexibilitytheme.com/ and you can download it.

        • Nancy

Thanks so much for the information.

    • Estelle

      Hi Leslie,

Your video was on point. “Stop asking WHY and start doing.” That’s what I’m taking from your post. It’s good to hear it over and over again.

      Happy Day!
      Estelle

      • lesliez

I’ve done this so many times Estelle. I wonder if I’m think headed 🙂 It really makes no sense to continue question your mentors. Not sure why so many people do it. I’m not sure why I’ve done it so often.

So, I’m focusing on action, action, action.

Have a productive and successful week

        LeslieZ

    • lesliez

      Hey Karl,

Yes I’ve had some minor success, but it also helped point me in the direction of what I like and what I don’t like. And I don’t like SEO! I’m not in control of my own destiny.

My blog success thus far is from following coaches…and Dean’s challenge is one of them. I’ve been doing a lot of blog commenting and that also is paying off.

I laugh that I’m either persistent or a like banging my head against the wall. Thanks for the vote of persistence :-))

    • Amuro Wesley

That’s a great video you have done.

Taking action by doing everything our mentor tells you is our first priority and responsibility.

Not just to ourselves or mentor but to our families.

Especially when you just started out.

      • lesliez

My family is a HUGE driving force behind me doing this. Sometimes I lose sight of that when I’m feeling unmotivated.

It is easy to stay with the status quo. I want to give my family so much. I do it for them and for me. I want more for me too!

    • John

      Hi Leslie,

      Great blog you have here!

I loved watching your video, looks like you read Dean’s mind for this weeks task, you are way ahead 🙂

I think you are doing a great job, keep up the good work!

      Best regards

      John.

      • lesliez

Thanks for visiting my blog John. I think I’d be in a very different position in life if I could read minds 🙂 Too much fun!

But to be far, I’ll do the challenge and do my 3rd video in 2 weeks. Funny prior to these last two weeks, I had never been in front of a camera and it scared me to death.

Now, it just makes me a little nervous, but getting better.

        LeslieZ

    • Norene

Great video Leslie! I am surprised to read that you were nervous — you look great! -Norene

      • lesliez

Thanks Norene! Oh yeah, I was plenty nervous. I was reading a script on this video and winged it on the first video in a previous post.

    • Lubano

      Hi Leslie,

I have been thinking of trying Hangout for a long time but at last haven’t gotten myself to do it.

I think this time will be a good opportunity for me to try it out. Basically, I get to try hangout and complete the week 2 assignment for the challenge at the same time.

By the way, I think you have done a great job for the video 🙂

      • lesliez

Yeah Lubano that’s what I tried to do too. Just couple a task together with something else you haven’t done just to get the experience.

My other coach, Marc, said I needed to do a video on my blog so I did and I always wanted to try hangouts….done and done.

The cool thing is too that recording on hangouts also puts a copy on Youtube for you. It’s just a little nerve racking since it is live. No do overs….like my phone ringing. Ooops!

      Hi Leslie,

You have great site with excellent content, keep up the good work!!

      • lesliez

        Thanks Sean!

It is funny how what Dean said is really true. You are your toughest critic.

I’ve gotten a ton of compliments on this site and am very very appreciative. But as I look at others blogs, I think they did this so much better or that so much better.

Proves the point also of stop comparing to others and just focus on your own stuff.

        LeslieZ

    • Frasser

      Hi Leslie,

Great blog and great videos ! You look like you’re so comfortable in what your doing and it’s great to learn that you’re doing two programs at once.

As pretty much a newbie to all this (even though I have several blogs in various states !) I’m lookimg forward to seeing and hearing how others do and look forward to seeing what happens.

I’m glad you’re on board and look forward to reading your new posts in the future.

      Frasser

      • lesliez

I’m excited to be part of something larger then myself. It is amazing how many people have taken action and are moving forward.

We need to keep our focus until we start to see some success and then that will give us an even greater boost to move forward.

People like you, Frasser, stopping by my blog has given me a huge boost in energy and motivation. Thanks and good luck to you too!

        LeslieZ

    • Rich Emmett

Great post LeslieZ and fantastic video as well. I look forward to following your progress and seeing your success from applying both of the programs you’re following!

      • lesliez

Thanks Rich! Super excited to have found my path. I’m finally more interested in what I’m doing with these two programs now then I am about what is the “latest and greatest” in my inbox 🙂

    • Bert

      Hi Lesliez,

Hey great video. You’re already set for the challenge in week 2 since week 1. I have done only 2 videos in all my internet life and they were for a testimony. I always felt that when it comes to videos, It should come out close to being professional. My mistake. It should be as natural as it can be and if it looks like its done by a newbie, then that’s actually the truth. Its refreshing to see truth and reality when there are so much dressing out there. You gave me strength to just do it and do it to the best of my ability and that includes bloopers.
Thank you for visiting my blog.

      • lesliez

        Yup Bert, just do it.

I’m glad I could inspire you…bloopers and all 🙂 If I can do it, anyone can.

We can do this together. Keep pushing forward.

        LeslieZ

    • Dita

      Hi Leslie,

Great video. I really enjoyed watching it. I liked your honesty. We need more of that online. You are so right about the Challenge program. It is not only for people who are starting online, it is also for people who have been online for a while and are simply not making it.

      Best of luck,

      Dita

      • lesliez

Thanks Dita! I appreciate you stopping by my blog.

It is amazing the encouragement I have received on my blog from fellow challengers. Not only are we learning new skills but we are building relationships that will last long after the challenge is over.

    • Anne Uemura

      Hello Lesliez:

Yes, I applaud you for having anticipated our Week 2 assignment and getting all these visits to your content-full blog. Again, I am reminded that my website, quickly assembled, needs some attention–after I do enough blog-hopping. Good luck in keeping both coaching programs moving forward to the success you visualize. Let’s all work together as well following in Dean’s footsteps–such an inspiring leader and example, isn’t he? Keep up the good work. Anne

      • lesliez

Yes Anne, Dean is very inspiring! I believe he genuinely wants all of us to succeed.

And not only do we have Dean in our court but we have each other…everyone who is taking the challenge is rooting for each other.

        That’s amazing!

    • Dario

      Hi Leslie Z

Just shared your Video on Facesbook, I like how sincere and with a bit of Humor you explain why you started doing this Challenge next to your Coaching Program.

I believe it will enhance what you learn with the Coaching Program and you gain a great amount of additional Support which will be good for you too.

Lets hope we all make some good Money with the time that we put in, not only short term but also to have a long term Career with it.

I am working on 5 Blogs right now, 2 are Websites I am working on for my Public Speaking and Sales Coaching Business which are in need to be redone and the other one will be about my Online Coaching Services and Webinars.

Both of which are right now not finished but I started one Personal Blog on Purpose because I can then what I learn in the QSC apply to the other ones and still leverage my Personal Blog by sharing it whilst I am improving my other Websites and Blogs.

So as you can see, I too do several things, but I make specific time available for each task I do so I do not get distracted to achieve my goal, so far it works and I am making progress.

Keep in touch and never give up.

      Cheers

      Dario

      • lesliez

Dario, that is a great idea. Focus on one task and then move on to the next. That is what I try to do also, although I still seem to get sidetracked.

Keeping focused is definitely the key. Good luck to you and your many endeavors.

        LeslieZ

    • Andy Mackow

Hey, good job. I have not really got into hangouts yet, and Google+ has me a little lost at the moment, but is something I certainly need to get my teeth into, but one thing at a time … focus focus focus!!

      • lesliez

        Andy,
I’m still a little lost with Google+, but working through it. And I agree with your “one thing at a time”.

It’s easy to dabble here and dabble there and get absolutely nothing done.

        Focus Focus Focus!!!!! (Great advice)

      All the best to you.

        Hi Afzal,

I’m still working through the details on Hangouts. I know it is an up and coming social platform. So I figure I might as well jump on board.

I have only used it a few times myself.
