There are a lot of very trustworthy marketers that have had great success. They are providing amazing value and many of them are incredible mentors. And they are the majority of marketers I’ve run into online. Continue reading
A few years ago…ok more like 5 years ago, after listening to a training about internet marketing and setting goals, I was pumped up! You know how it is right after you listen or watch a really good training, how you’re ready to take on the world and tell everyone about it… at least for a good hour before reality and doubt set in.
When I started my blog there were several questions that I asked as I was getting started. So I thought if I asked them, then everyone who has started a blog must have also asked these same questions or at least some of them. That brought me to the writing of this post.
For those of you who are thinking about starting a blog or have just begun your blog, you’ll need the answers to these big blogging problems. Some you may have already answered yourself or gotten different answers then I offer, but I know you’ll pick up some little tidbit that will help you with your blog.
I also provide several GREAT RESOURCES from other bloggers who go into the answers in either more detail then I do or who have a different take on the question and answer. Someone told me it makes them feel like they’re back in college with reference material. But seriously, the links are more exciting then college…ok maybe not, but they are definitely worth checking out! Continue reading
This week the Quick Start Challenge ended. Now the bigger challenge will begin.
Continue to do the things Dean taught us in the challenge. Continue to grow my business. Continue to update my blog. Continue to get traffic. Continue to grow my list. Continue to progress.
But I and my fellow QSC members are not alone! As we have an awesome Facebook community of very supportive people. They provide help, encouragement, and someone to bounce ideas off of.
So, many of the pieces are in place for my success. Not to mention my coaching program with Marc. All that’s left is for me to stay focused on getting traffic for the next 90 days and building my list. That is the biggest challenge…taking steady and consistent action.
As I’ve heard before…this is a marathon, not a sprint.
Leave me comment below about what your biggest challenge is in your business.
For this week’s challenge, we have to put an opt-in form on our blog. I’ll be using AWeber for my autoresponder. Had to check out a video or two on Youtube and AWeber to remember how to get the opt-in form on my blog sidebar. I’ve also been working on my other coaching program with Marc Milburn and we are working on squeeze pages too, so that has worked out really well.
Well if you are reading this right after I’ve posted this, you’ll see I have no opt-in form. The reason I don’t have an opt-in form yet, or at least didn’t at the time of writing this post is because I’m waiting on my outsourcer to finish my “free gift”…what I’m giving away if people optin to my list. My “free gift” is a little complicated to create and I asked the outsourcer to do my job quicker then the timeframe he gave so I’m waiting….and hoping…and praying he gets it to me today so I can make my challenge deadline.
If he doesn’t make it in time for the challenge deadline, at least I know within the next two days or so, I’ll not only have an opt-in on my blog, but I will also have a separate squeeze page and funnel that will also be done. Super excited about that! 🙂
Keep your fingers crossed that I’ll have a “free gift” in my hands in the next couple of hours…
Sidenote: The one item I am not doing very good at right now, is driving traffic to my blog. I need to do more blog commenting and forum commenting. Need to get more focused on traffic.
This is my update on the Quick Start Challenge for week 2. It’s been super busy for me, but I did complete my challenge. Although I could have been more aggressive in my traffic generation. Two down and two to go.
Tip: Turn your phone sideways when recording to get a full screen video instead of what you see above. I need to take my own advice…
I have started on a new challenge in my business. You know I’m already working with a coach and the roadmap he has laid out for me can be challenging enough, but I’ve also decided to join Dean Holland’s program… The Quick Start Challenge. Dean is working with two partners on this program Craig Crawford and JF Garsula. Learn what I discovered about this Challenge in the video below:
Pretty cool, right? Well, I’ll keep you posted on how things are going each week. Let me know what you think about this crazy adventure I’ve gotten myself into by commenting below. Continue reading
Today I had high hopes of accomplishing several things that were going to make a difference in my business. I created my list of 3 things to do and was ready to roll. I’d been away from my business for a few days due to a trip to the Emergency Room for my mother-in-law and a sporting event for one of my daughters.
I sat down at my computer and immediately started going through my email. I checked out a couple of email offers, looked at a couple of blog posts…WHAT THE HECK WAS I DOING! It was 1 1/2 hours later and I hadn’t touched my list of what I needed to get done for my business. Now, I did have a lot of email, but come on…. And now I only had a half hour before a conference call started that I wanted to be on. I had done it again…wasted a huge chunk of time moving myself no where closer to building my business.
I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve turned my good intentions of accomplishing business building activities into an email or facebook session. Now, I tell myself that I was looking for business “opportunities” in my email or facebook. Let’s call that what it is…Total And Complete Continue reading
We all love to hate gurus, but the honest gurus are exactly those people we should be learning from and being mentored by. Everyone will meet their goals quicker if they learn from somebody who has been there and done that! It’s also easy to learn from a mentor and then put off taking action. Get an Accountability Partner to make sure you’re moving toward your goals.
Something else people hate is talking on camera. Well, here’s my first video and before making it, I made a thousand excuses for why I couldn’t do it. I was in my car making these excuses and I finally said “screw it” (seems to be a theme this week). I put my cellphone on record and I recorded this video. It won’t win me an Oscar and it’ll probably make a few people laugh at how amateurish it is but it’s done. No more excuses. I hope you enjoy it or at least realize you can do a much better job then me!
So What’s My Story?
Well, my story isn’t a rags to riches one, but it does have a few twists and turns along the way. I live in Indiana, just outside of Chicago, with my husband, two kids and our two dogs. I enjoy sports which my kids are very active in, am a photographer wanna be, love traveling and love being outside (prefer my toes in warm beach sand vs being frozen off in snow).
I started in internet marketing about 2006. Before that I worked as middle management for a technology company. I had quit my job to spend more time with my two young kids. It was supposed to be for a couple of months. Unfortunately between, a downturn in the economy and the events of 9/11, I was unable to find a job. So I began rehabbing rental properties with my sister. We did that for about 3 years. When the recession hit, our business collapsed. Continue reading
